Tullow Oil has set its sights on a more “realistic” target of the second half of 2020 for sanction of its proposed South Lokichar oilfield development in Kenya, which until recently was being eyed for late this year, writes Eoin O'Cinneide.
The London-headquartered independent has already completed front-end engineering and design studies for both the upstream and pipeline components of the development, the foundation stage of which will see between 60,000 and 80,000 barrels per day flow from the Amosing, Ngamia and Twiga fields.
