TPAO’s seismic vessel Barbaros Hayreddin Pasa entered Cypriot waters late last month and is due to be in the disputed area until mid-November.
The TPAO move comes at a time when Italy’s Eni has started drilling in Cyprus’s designated Block 9 under a licence from the Greek Cypriot government.
Both Turkey and its client state, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, urged Nicosia to halt drilling in what they call a disputed area.
