The field, named South Iolotan, is located close to the town of Iolotan in the southeastern part of the country, President Saparmurat Niyazov said in televised remarks last weekend.
He said a Chinese energy company, which he did notname, had shown interest in developing the field, with help from a company from the United Arab Emirates.
