Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) has applied to the nation's Energy Ministry for operatorship of two blocks where it will seek to work with international partners.
“We must be directly interested as the national oil company, and our applications are currently under review by Energy Minister Irene Muloni,” said UNOC chief financial officer Emmanuel Mugagga.
Mugagga did not specify whether the state oil company has applied for acreage offered under the licensing round launched on 8 May, which includes the Avivi, Omuka, Kasuruban, Turaco and Ngaji blocks, or if the acreage lies outside this formal exercise.
