The UK authorities this week awarded 41 new oil and gas licences, completing the country’s latest offshore round following main awards made late last year.
The new licences take the number granted in the 28th Round to 175, covering 353 blocks, making it one of the largest since licensing began in 1965, the UK Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) said.
The main tranche of licences was announced on 6 November 2014.
