Vessel builder and designer Ulstein has won a fresh contract to build a new polar cruise vessel for a company that works in partnership with National Geographic.
New York-based expedition cruise and adventure travel company Lindblad Expeditions has ordered the ice-class unit, boosting its fleet of National Geographic series units to four.
The vessel, which will be a sister vessel to the third in the series — the National Geographic Endurance, due for delivery in the first quarter of 2020 — will be able to carry 126 passengers and will feature 69 guest cabins and suites, 75% of which will have private balconies.
