US supermajor Chevron could be looking at another hub-type field development in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico after making a pair of presumed discoveries in remote Keathley Canyon off the US.
Chevron confirmed it has finished drilling at its Sicily wildcat in Keathley Canyon 814 in more than 6700 feet of water, about 228 miles (366 kilometres) off Louisiana.
The well, drilled by drillship Pacific Santa Ana, reached a total depth of 33,749 feet.
