Some US drillers are expecting their rig counts to bottom out in the fourth quarter while they anticipate activity picking up going into next year amid lower overall rig counts.
“It’s been a challenging year with the overall decrease in US industry rig count, and the third quarter was the quarter with the fastest decline during the year,” chief executive of US land drilling specialist Patterson-UTI, William Hendricks, said in a call with investors.
