The US is set to offer more than 14,000 blocks in the Gulf of Mexico in the country’s latest lease sale, set to be held on 21 August.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will offer 77.8 million acres of unleased tracts in the region-wide lease sale to be livestreamed from New Orleans.

Lease Sale 253 will include all available unleased areas in the Gulf of Mexico, with about 14,585 blocks up for grabs.
