The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) and the nation's main pipeline regulator are to join forces in an effort to accelerate the permitting process for liquefied natural gas facilities.
The US Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Administration (PHMSA) said last week it would sign a memorandum of understanding with Ferc to "refine and shorten" the permit application process for proposed LNG projects.
