Norway's Equinor has received regulatory approval to start production from the Utgard field in the North Sea.

The cross-border gas and condensate field is a two-well subsea development tied back to the Equinor-operated Sleipner T platform 21 kilometres away.

It has reserves of about 56 million barrels of oil equivalent, including 2.7 billion cubic metres of gas.

Equinor and partners Lotos and Kufpec have spent about Nkr2.7
