Equinor has turned on the taps at the subsea Utgard field straddling the North Sea border between the UK and Norway.

The gas and condensate field holds about 40 million barrels of oil equivalent, which will be produced via the Equinor-operated Sleipner field on the Norwegian side.

The field was discovered in 1982, but was not brought into development until Equinor acquired the licence on the UK side three years ago.
