At one time, the company held as much as 60,000 acres but it sold about 11,000 acres in Carroll, Harrison and Guernsey counties to American Energy Utica, which later became Ascent Resources.
The company is now selling almost 39,500 net acres — what looks to be the majority of its remaining leasehold — via closed bidding on divestiture service EnergyNet.
