Uzbekistan's recently restructured oil and gas producer Uzbekneftegaz has reiterated its plan to grow gas production by between 4 billion and 5 billion cubic metres next year, up from this year’s expected output of 42 Bcm.

According to the company’s executive chairman Bakhodirzhon Sidikov, such steep growth after years of stagnation should be generated from the company’s investment in workovers at existing and idle wells on its blocks.
