The June 2008 pipeline rupture knocked out 30% of the state’s gas supplies for several months.
Apache declared force majeure and set about repairing the Varanus facilities. This was done and full production was restored in the second quarter of 2009.
However, the incident investigation process has still not been completed and several legal actions are under way against Apache and its co-venturers, while others are threatened.
