Statoil and its partners are drilling a sidetrack to their Verbier exploration well off the UK as they hope for success after a failed initial wildcat.
The Norwegian state-controlled operator is sidetracking the probe after analysing wireline log data from the 20/05b-13 well in licence P2170 that was drilled by semi-submersible Transocean Spitsbergen. This well found only water, London-listed partner Jersey Oil & Gas (JOG) said.
