Before Global 1200, Keppel Singmarine’s sister yard was contracted to build the hull of an 800-tonne construction vessel for Malaysia’s Bumi Armada. The vessel subsequently sailed for the Caspian Sea, where it underwent its final integration.
Keppel Singmarine was awarded a contract for Global 1200 in 2007. This was followed up by a repeat order for a sister vessel, Global 1201.
