Vintage Petroleum has been known as a classic US acquire-and-exploit E&P story, and although that has been the basis of the company's business strategy Vintage has been putting the missing link -- exploration -- into play.
While Vintage declined to comment directly, citing a quiet period prior to revealing its earnings later this month, analysts were ready with an assessment of the company.
