German operator VNG is approaching the moment of truth at its Boomerang wildcat in the North Sea, the first of two explortion wells near last year’s Pil and Bue oil discoveries.
Boomerang and the subsequent Blink probe are set to determine whether Pil and Bue could become a standalone development.
At the moment, the 80 million and 200 million barrels of oil equivalent found last year make a tie-back solution to the Njord or Draugen platforms the most likely option.
