US service player Weatherford posted a net loss of $171 million in the three months to the end of June, down from a loss of $565 million in the same period of 2016.
Revenues were somewhat lower at $1.36 billion versus $1.4 billion, with numbers down in the Middle East, North Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America in particular.
Revenues were higher in North America, although in total the land drilling rig segment posted a drop in sales.
