Asian offshore fabricators are queuing up to compete for the next batch of wellhead platforms bound for PTTEP’s Zawtika gas project off Myanmar.

There are at least eight potential contenders — all of which are established top-tier fabricators keen to boost their order books, said sources.

The companies hoping to receive an invitation to tender for the engineering, procurement and construction contract include two from Thailand — Cuel and Thai Nippon Steel — two from Malaysia — SapuraKencana Petroleum and Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering — China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC), South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries, India’s Larsen & Toubro and a yet-to-be-identified yard from Indonesia.
