West Navion is contracted to Marathon offshore Canada. Smedvig, which owns the vessel on a 50:50 basis with wholly owned Statoil subsidiary Navion, has revealed that its first-quarter accounts could be hit by Nkr40 million ($4.5 million) due to the halt in operations.
The cracks were detected in wire sheaves, a component of the hoisting system of the dual derrick set.
