A floating production, storage and offloading vessel built by China’s Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry for UK-based Dana Petroleum will soon sail to European waters, though it is not expected to start production in the UK North Sea until the fourth quarter.

Upstream understands the Western Isles floater, a Sevan Marine cylindrical design built at Cosco’s facilities in Qidong in Jiangsu province, is scheduled to sail away after equipment testing at sea between 22 and 25 February.
