The Loma Negra x-1 wildcat, located 30 kilometres north-west of the city of General Roca, tested oil at rates of 450, 1350 and 2600 barrels per day respectively from the Pre-Cuyo, Las Lajas and Punta Rosada formations. These lie at depths of between 2500 and 3200 metres. The operator described the find as an important new oil accumulation but did not give a reserves estimate.
