Australian operator Woodside Petroleum has started production from its Greater Enfield development off Western Australia, writes Josh Lewis.

Woodside confirmed that first oil had been produced on Sunday through the Ngujima-Yin floating production, storage and offloading vessel.

The Greater Enfield project involves development of the Laverda Canyon, Norton-over-Laverda and Cimatti oil accumulations in water depths of between 340 and 850 metres.

The project saw the installation of subsea infrastructure and the drilling of 12 development wells, with the fields to be produced via a 31-kilometre subsea tie-back to the FPSO.
