The company revealed it had resumed production last Friday after the semi-submersible Atwood Osprey drifted near flowlines the previous week. The rig had drifted three nautical miles (5.5 kilometres) from Chevron’s Iago-1B well into the Pluto exclusion zone after breaking several mooring lines during Cyclone Olwyn and forcing Woodside to take the precautionary measure of halting output.
Underwater inspections confirmed the integrity of the flowlines and Woodside was able to resume production once the rig had been safely moved out of its exclusion zone.
