Australian operator Woodside Petroleum has contracted a deep-water drillship for its 2018 exploration campaign off Myanmar.
The company has agreed with Transocean to use the drillship Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 from April to September this year at an undisclosed dayrate. Thereafter, Woodside has four fixed-price options to use the same drillship until August 2019.
Woodside plans to drill its first well in Block AD-1 in its northern hub.
