The company’s chief executive in China, Karl Qiu, said WorleyParsons is looking to co-operate with privately-owned energy entities in the country in the wake of broader reform plans revealed at the recent top party conference. These changes will allow the private sector wider access to the upstream oil and gas sector.

The company, which is already the largest foreign engineering and project management contractor in China by contracts and number of employees, is especially looking at opportunities in shale gas and LNG.
