Russia’s Yamal LNG is gearing up to complete the first phase of the South Tambey field development and export its first liquefied natural gas cargo by the end of 2017 as originally scheduled in 2012, despite market turmoil and other challenges encountered in the last two years.
Speaking at the Yamal Oil & Gas conference in Salekhard, Yamal LNG executive director Yevgeny Kot said the multibillion-dollar project has passed two key milestones this year, restructuring its shareholdings and securing more than $18 billion in external financing.
