Sinopec has established a joint venture with Yanan Energy & Chemical Group to jointly explore for and potentially develop natural gas in China's Ordos basin.
The Huayan Natural Gas Company joint venture will carry out exploration on the Wuniu block in Shaanxi province's Fuxian county.
The block covers 930 square kilometres and has potential gas reserves of 94 billion cubic metres.
