Keppel Offshore & Marine chief executive Chow Yew Yuen told Upstream that the group’s main facilities in Singapore have been geared to deliver between 12 and 15 rigs per year, but that this is now being scaled back to between eight and 10 rigs annually in response to the market downturn.
Meanwhile, Keppel hopes to expand in China, where the offshore oil and gas sector has grown significantly and there is increasing demand for high-specification rigs and production vessels.
