Local content requirements on the P-76 floating production, storage and offloading vessel seem daunting at first, writes Gareth Chetwynd.
Requirements for engineering, management, fabrication, assembly and integration of topsides were all set at 65% and process plant goods inclusion has an average minimum of 71%.
“There were some items that were impossible to respond locally to the level demanded, like the flare system and screw compressors, and that dragged our average down a bit, but under other items, like telecommunications systems and tanks, we were well over the minimum,” says P-76 construction manager Luciano de Souza.
