The probe targeting the so-called Priodontes prospect, is the second of a four-well exploration campaign to follow up the Zaedyus-1 discovery in 2011.
The well, which is being drilled in the Guyane Maritime block, did not find any oil or gas in its shallow zones after hitting a 325-metre sand interval.
The well, did however encounter 50 metres of oil-stained sands in the secondary Bradypus fan.
