Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh has ended months of speculation over the fate of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) managing director Rokneddin Javadi by replacing him with NIOC deputy managing director Ali Kardor.
No reason was given for Javadi’s departure over the weekend after less than three years in his position. Kardor’s appointment by Zanganeh specifies a two-year term.
The changes at the top are believed to be due to personality and some management issues, rather than policy.
