The revelation was made last week by Zanganeh himself amidst a national row over the exorbitant pays of some state managers.
Separately, the ministry and its affiliates such as the National Iranian Oil Company are in the process of replacing many senior managers brought out of retirement and given salaries while receiving their pensions.
Zanganeh told the ministry news agency Shana that his monthly salary was less than 100 million rials (about $3200).
