German independent DEA is making progress with cost reduction efforts at its Zidane development in the Norwegian Sea, and sources are optimistic that the operator and its partners will relaunch the project late next month or early in September.
There are still hurdles for the operator to overcome given today’s sharply lower oil and gas prices and the need to resolve a dispute with Statoil and its partners at the Heidrun licence about tariffs to be paid for tying in Zidane’s production to the Heidrun tension-leg platform.
