Speaking to journalists in London, Christophe de Margerie said that the Elgin field's expansion was on hold pending a review and a new final investment decision.
The French oil major has not brought any further wellsonline since the three that were restarted in March 2013, although a fourth isin the process of being commissioned, De Margerie said.
