Equinor intends to select the concept model for the subsea layout of the Carcara pre-salt development off Brazil by the end of the year, writes Fabio Palmigiani.
TechnipFMC and a pairing of Subsea 7 and Schlumberger-owned OneSubsea are currently working on pre-front-end engineering and design studies for the Carcara project.
Equinor plans to sign a FEED deal with either TechnipFMC or Subsea 7-OneSubsea later this year and award an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract covering subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines in 2020, a similar timeline to that envisage for the project's floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
